Matchday Operations Staff
Announced in May of 2023, San Diego FC becomes Major League Soccer’s 30th expansion team. We are committed to excellence on and off the field and our Matchday Operations Staff add to this excellence. San Diego FC is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated part-time Matchday Operations Staff to join the game day operations team.
Job Duties
- Equipment handling such as the loading and unloading of trucks of equipment and assisting in inventory management.
- Execute overall setup of San Diego FC specific elements of the stadium for match day, including camera platforms, Capo stands, VIP entries and holding rooms.
- Set up equipment in locker rooms, ensuring that all necessary items are prepared for players and coaching staff.
- Install temporary branding throughout the stadium for each match, including signage and promotional materials.
- Prepare player benches and technical areas, ensuring they are ready for the match.
- Assist in set up of all match day initiatives like gate giveaways and group experiences
- Assist in building and setting up LED field boards and other visual displays.
- Work closely with other team members to coordinate efforts and ensure smooth operations on match day.
- Coordinate with other SDFC departments to ensure successful event planning and execution.
- Liaise with outside parties (visiting teams, referees, league officials, vendors, partners, etc.) to ensure all needs are met.
- Assist with the breakdown of equipment, branding and locker room materials and load into trucks after each match.
Qualifications
- Ideal: Students pursuing career in Sports Management/Event Operations and/or 1-2 years of related experience
- Strong organizational and time management skills. Reliable, punctual, and regular in attendance
- Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task or another, without the loss of efficiency of composure
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, use tools and work in various weather conditions over the course of a full event (8-10 hours)
- Previous experience in event setup, conversions or operations is preferred, but not required.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Availability to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Employees may be scheduled to work until 12:00am or later
- Walking and standing occurs 90% of the time
